Building and Serving
We advocate, educate, and celebrate To support the Black Community
What We Do
— We Advocate
Our organization exists to be a voice for the people in our community through voter registration and civic engagement.
— We Educate
We strive to promote antiracism by hosting Community Conversations and seeking partnerships with local schools and organizations.
— We Celebrate
We want to recognize the joy in our lives and will commemorate Black freedom with an annual Juneteenth celebration for the whole community.
— We Connect
Community building is at the heart of what we do, and CARJ will actively seek to work together with other local groups and organizations.
What's Happening Now
CARJ Curious Kids Program for Licking County 5th Graders
We are currently working to provide take-home books to students in Licking County schools, and one hour of in-person age appropriate programming to engage students in discussions about race and equity.
CARJ is currently seeking funding for this program and welcomes community support.
